Bell recast for Lanivet
Back in August, the ringers of Lanivet Tower were dismayed to discover that one of their bells was cracked. They immediately set about raising money to have it recast and were spectacularly successful. The villagers of Lanivet rose to the challenge and many friends from across Cornwall also pitched in.
Because of this swift response, the bell was removed from the tower and sent off to Taylors of Loughborough to be be recast. Tower Captain, Dave Williams, led a group of ringers to see the casting happen. Final shaping and tuning will take place before the new bell is 'hallowed' by the bishop on December 16th at a special Sunday morning service in the church.
