Guided walk led by a horse!
August 20 - Lanivet to Nanstallon
As we climbed over a stile, the walkers were greeted with, “Good morning pilgrims” by Judy, mounted on her horse. We followed horse and rider along the lanes! After leaving us to go to the stables, the group were met by Brenda and Danny, who had walked from Nanstallon to meet us and accompany us to the village. We ate our lunch, in glorious sunshine, in the grounds of St Stephen’s Church. At regular intervals, one of our particularly knowledgeable walkers gave impromptu talks on the discovery of stone crosses, water rams and granite stones at bridges. Three dogs, two children and nine adults walked one fifth of the Bodmin Way, on a superb summer’s day.
August 13 - Lanivet to Lanhydrock
Twelve walkers, in good weather and good spirits, enjoyed the challenge of this walk; as Ann put it, “Great company – Great Scenery – What’s not to like?”
August 22 - St Hydroc’s to St Meubred’s
This walk quickly became a nature trail! We spied a rare butterfly, a pony, guard dogs, as well as the beautiful Cardinham Waters and a quicker photographer would have captured vibrant dragonflies and a buzzard!
